I know it sounds really vague, but that’s all there is to it, making a character that you can actually feel like it’s alive despite it being a thing.
To me, characters should be more than just fuckdolls or cuddle whores, as that gets old and boring really fast, a character that has a personality is fun to draw or put into situations because it’s fun to try and see how they would handle things if they existed.
The same with traits, specially within the inflation thing, a lot of people have characters that expand forever, are unbreakable and that’s about it to describe them; having different and varied traits helps the character be a single thing compared to other similar ones, as it also changes how a character will react on different scenarios.
As for more specific to the whole inflatable thing, there’s a lot of different approaches you can take to design the physical appearance of the character, you can go for a more classical pool-toy effect (handles and all,) just inflatable like Rawr, hell, even fuckdoll is an option; also, being colorful is good but being an eyesore is terrible, using white, grey, black or some sort of desaturated or pastel color will help balance out the colorfulness of the design.

Wow, that’s a long post…
Are things within the inflatable community really as bad as I've been told they are? It sounds like theres a lot of arguments between you guys. How long has this all been going on for and what exactly is the cause of it? Or is it just sort of an ongoing fued that people have forgotten the origin of? I don't mean to be nosy or instigate anything I'm just curious as an outsider.
Let’s just say I’ve experienced the uglyness of people firsthand
In part because people seem to forget the people they talk at the other side of the computer lines are also people and not robots meant for your entertainment, and don’t realize how badly they can treat you even if it is not their intention.
On the other hand, there’s people who are actively trying to take advantage of you (Happened, is happening) and you can’t do shit about it, it’s frustrating, but in the end, I have no real moves against them.
And on another side, there’s just the ugly and the stupid, people who are just too dumb to really relate to, or people who are seem untrustworthy, from the way they act or say things, or by previous experience with others.
Now, this is something that doesn’t only happen within the inflatable community, it happens everywhere, I just happen to be active within that group, and therefore it’s what I’m expressing about it. I do honestly think it’s got a lot of shitty people participating in it.
As for feuds with others, there’s some people I don’t talk to anymore for the above reasons, there’s some guys I openly hate due to their way of thinking, where stepping over other’s rights is fine as long as they get what they want without realizing how much damage they’re doing. It’s just horribly disgusting how people think, but then again, people is horrible.

Sadly, the inflatable community (And any other community for that matter) suffer from the same problem, people without morals or brain, either or.
And sadly again, these people are too blinded by their own ambitions/impulses/hormones or whatever makes them function to make them realize the damage they’re dealing towards others, as much as Puffypaws and G&G had been “at war” with each other for the longest time, they have never resorted to copying the other side’s stuff to get profits.
I’m disappointed about a lot of people within the inflatable community, that’s why I’m not too active in it anymore, I would still enjoy designing inflatables for the community if the community was more grateful, instead they have this horrible sense of entitlement, they want toys not even -I- as a designer get, and that pisses the living fuck out of me.
And yes, that’s a tard in there, y’all know who.
